Hybrid Oblong Covers Hybrid Oblong Lids Hybrid Square Covers Hybrid Square Lids

Introduction

Hybrid Covers and Lids are injection molded using high temperature Liquid Crystal Polymer (Vectra®). They are designed to provide a fast and economical alternative for protecting ceramic substrate, semiconductor, microcircuit, thin film, thick film and other hybrid circuits.

Hybrid Covers and Lids can be produced incorporating special features such as cored holes, locating ribs, standoff feet, internal ledges, and many other features that may be required. Since all tooling is produced in our own modern tool room, new sizes can be made available with a normal lead time of six weeks after receipt of order.


Part Numbering System

Hybrid Oblong Cover
"VOC" for Vectra® Oblong Cover; dash; Width identifier (dimension "W"); Length identifier (dimension "L"); Height or Special Feature identifier. Example: VOC-150160S1 identifies a Hybrid Cover with a width of .150" and a length of .160" and a Special Feature identifier of S1. The Height or Special Feature identifier is an internal reference to minor differences between Covers that share the same Width and Length.

Hybrid Oblong Lid
"VOL" for Vectra® Oblong Lid; dash; Width identifier (dimension "W"); Length identifier (dimension "L"); Special feature identifier. Example: VOL-150750S1 identifies an Oblong Lid with a width of .150" and a length of .750" and a Special Feature identifier of S1. The Special Feature identifier is an internal reference to minor differences between Lids that share the same Width and Length.

Hybrid Square Cover
"VSC" for Vectra® Square Cover; dash; Width identifier (dimension "W"); Length identifier (dimension "L"); Height or Special Feature identifier. Example: VSC-150150100 identifies a Square Cover with a width of .150", a length of .150" and a Height of .100". The Height or Special Feature identifier is an internal reference to minor differences between Covers that share the same Width and Length.

Hybrid Square Lid
"VSL" for Vectra® Square Lid; dash; Width identifier (dimension "W"); and Length identifier (dimension "L"); Special Feature identifier. Example: VSL-150150 identifies a Square Lid with a width of .150" and a length of .150" and no Special Feature identifier. The Special Feature identifier is an internal reference to differences between Lids that share the same Width and Length.


LCP (Vectra®) Properties
High temperature Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP) plastic exhibits excellent mechanical strength and dimensional stability, high dielectric strength and low coefficient of thermal expansion. Provided in a standard off-white color or black (referenced by a "-B" suffix in the part number), it can be used continuously at 280°C (536°F), has a melt point of 335°C (635°F), is inherently flame retardant and meets the flammability requirements of UL 94V-O.
