Introduction
Coil Mounting Products are injection molded
using high temperature Liquid
Crystal Polymer (Vectra®). They
are designed to provide an economical, fast and
easy means of mounting coils, inductors, and transformers
to printed circuit boards and chassis.
Toroid Mounts
Robison Electronics Toroid Mounts (VTM) are
designed to provide an economical, fast and
easy method of attaching toroids to printed
circuit boards. There are 18 standard sizes
available, but specials can be easily manufactured
to meet your specific needs. Each VTM features
cored holes and standoff feet.
The cored holes allow toroid windings to pass
through, permitting the wire to be used as external
leads. Where fine wire cannot be used as leads,
a variety of pins are available from Robison
Electronics Assembly Hardware. Additional pins
can be inserted into unused hole locations to
provide extra hold down strength.
When leads will not provide sufficient hold-down
strength, Robison Electronics Toroid Caps may
be required. Toroid Caps are placed on top of
the toroid and a nylon flathead screw is inserted
through the cap, toroid and mount and secured
with a nylon nut to hold the assembly together.

Standoff feet on the bottom surface of the
VTM allow for solder fillet formation and flush
cleaning of solder flux residues from underneath
the assembly.
Horizontal
Toroid Mounting Platforms
Robison Electronics Horizontal Toroid Mounting
Platforms (HTMP) are designed to provide an
economical, fast and easy method of attaching
toroids to printed circuit boards. There are
23 standard sizes available, but specials can
be manufactured to meet your specific needs.
Each HTMP features cored holes and standoff
feet.
Cored holes on standard pin circles allow flexibility
for mounting designs. Additional pins can be
inserted into unused holes to provide extra
hold down strength.
When leads will not provide sufficient hold-down
strength, Robison Electronics Toroid Caps may
be required. Toroid Caps are placed on top of
the toroid and a nylon flathead screw is inserted
through the cap, toroid and mount and secured

Insulators (HTMI) are designed to provide an
economical, fast and easy method of insulating
toroids from printed circuit boards when mounted
directly to the board. There are 24 standard
sizes available, but specials can be manufactured
to meet your specific needs. Most HTMI's feature
standoff feet and a flashed over center hole
to accept a mounting screw if required.
When leads will not provide sufficient hold-down
strength, Robison Electronics Toroid Caps may
be required. Toroid Caps are placed on top of
the toroid and a nylon flathead screw is inserted
through the cap, toroid and mount and secured
with a nylon nut to hold the assembly together.

Self-Leaded

Robison Electronics Self-Leaded Toroid Carriers
(SLTC) are designed to provide an economical,
fast and easy method of locating toroids vertically
on printed circuit boards. Each SLTC is a type
of encapsulation shell which features cored
holes and 4 standoff feet to allow for mounting
toroids on the PCB. The SLTC allows the use
of a minimum amount of epoxy to firmly hold
toroids vertically in the carriers themselves.
Self-Leaded Toroid Carriers are available in
81 standard sizes, offering a wide variety to
meet most requirements. Specials can be manufactured
to meet your specific requirements.

Toroid Caps
Robison Electronics Toroid Caps (VTC) were designed
to assist in mounting toroids with several Robison
Electronics toroid mounts in those applications
where additional hold-down is required because
of toroid size and weight. VTC's are available
in 11 standard sizes, but specials can be easily
manufactured to meet your specific needs.
VTC's can be used to assist in securing toroids
in a variety of horizontal mounting application.
Placing a VTC on both sides of a toroid and
inserting a nylon flathead screw, through the
VTC, the toroid, and the printed circuit board,
then using a nylon nut to secure them, provides
superior insulation and hold-down qualities.
They can also be used independently as flat
washers to insulate toroids from metal, printed
circuit boards, and other materials. (Nylon

Mounts (TVTM) are designed to provide an economical,
fast and easy method of attaching toroids vertically
to printed circuit boards. Each TVTM features
standoff ribs on the bottom surface to allow
for solder fillet formation and flush cleaning
of solder flux residues from underneath the
assembly. TVTM's are available in 13 standard
sizes, but specials can be easily manufactured
to meet your specific needs. The standard product
line is molded in black.

Common

(CMTM) are designed to provide both separation
of windings and ease of mounting of toroids
to printed circuit boards or chassis. The CMTM's
are available in twenty (20) standard sizes
to accommodate most common toroid core sizes.
Specials can be easily manufactured to meet
your specific needs. Each CMTM features cored
holes and standoff feet.
Cored holes allow toroid winding leads up to
.048 diameter to pass through allowing them
to be used as mounting leads. Where fine wire cannot be

Common Mode Toroid Choke Spacers
Robison Electronics Common Mode Toroidal Choke
Spacers (CMTCS) are designed to provide an economical,
fast and easy method of separating windings
on toroidal common mode chokes. The CMTCS provides
physical separation and electrical insulation
on toroidal common mode chokes to prevent shorts
and arc-overs between the windings. CMTCS's
are available in 30 standard sizes to fit a
wide variety of toroidal core diameters. Specials
can be easily manufactured to fit your specific
needs.
Vertical
Core-Bobbin Transformer Platforms
Robison Electronics Vertical Core-Bobbin Transformer
Platforms (VCBTP) are designed to provide an
economical, fast and easy method of mounting
transformers of varying sizes to printed circuit
boards and chassis. VCBTP's are available in
18 standard sizes. Specials can be easily manufactured
to meet your specific needs. Each VCBTP features
cored holes and standoff feet.
VCBTP's incorporate two parallel ridges to
locate the transformer core on the platform.
A series of cored holes is molded into each
VCBTP to permit the standardization of printed
circuit board hole patterns. These holes also
allow transformer wire to pass through permitting
the wire to be used as leads. Where fine wire
cannot be used as leads, a variety of pins are
available from Robison Electronics Assembly
Hardware. Additional pins can be inserted into
unused hole locations to provide extra hold
down strength.

Surface Mount Cups
Robison Electronics Surface Mount Cups (SMC)
are designed to provide an economical, fast
and easy assembly of pins to printed circuit
boards, components, or modules. Each SMC features
cored internal grooves to accommodate the mounting
of performed leads. The grooves provide accurate
center-to-center lead spacing. The leads can
mount onto a pre-assembled printed circuit board
installed within the SMC, or leads can be soldered
directly to components installed within the
SMC.
There are 79 standard sizes available, but
specials can be easily manufactured to meet
your specific needs. Robison Electronics Gull-Wing
Leads or J-Leads were specifically designed
to mate with these SMC's and are available from
Robison Electronics Assembly Hardware.

LCP
(Vectra®) Properties
High temperature material is a liquid crystal
polymer (LCP) plastic exhibiting excellent mechanical
strength and dimensional stability, high dielectric
strength and low coefficient of thermal expansion.
Provided in a standard off-white color. It can
be used continuously at 280°C (536°F),
has a melt point of 335°C (635°F),
is inherently flame retardant and meets the flammability
requirements of UL 94V-O.
